Brian Calkin is the Chief Technology Officer at CyberWA. In the past, he served as the Chief Technology Officer for the Center for Internet Security (CIS), a forward-thinking, non-profit entity that harnesses the power of a global IT community to safeguard private and public organizations against cyber threats. As CTO, he was responsible for establishing CIS’ technological vision, technical strategy, and technology-related plans for growth. Brian also supervised CIS’ Internal Research and Development program.
Prior to this role, Brian served as Vice President of Operations at the Center for Internet Security (CIS), where he oversaw a team of over 50 cyber security professionals providing services to State and Local government entities throughout the United States. Brian also served as the Senior Director of Security Services as well as the Assistant Director of the CIS Security Operations Center. Brian was instrumental in the development and implementation of the nationally recognized Security Operational Center that provided critical cyber threat monitoring for state and local governments.
Brian has been practicing cybersecurity for over 10 years and his experiences, skills and perspectives have established him as a thought-leader in the space. Brian has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, Bloomberg, the Associated Press and several other publications.
